Bill Bucci – Coach Commission Chair
My current position on the BVA executive is the Chair of the Coaching Commission. I am responsible for overseeing the certifications of local coaches. I also teach the level 1 coaching course and I hold meetings of all the certified coaches in an open discussion forum so they can learn from each other.
I’ve been on and off the BVA committee since 1991, I’ve held the following positions: League Director, Secretary, Vice President, President, Past President and Chair of the Referee Commission. I am also currently the head coach for the Boys Junior National Volleyball Team and the Head Coach of the Men’s National Volleyball Team. I am a level 3 BVA certified Referee and I am also a USA Volleyball Level 3 certified Coach through their CAP program.
My real job is the Purchasing and Warehouse Manager for PW Marine Center. My responsibilities include purchasing all the items that we sell at the Marine Center including both our retail product and the items used for our service department. I am also responsible for the running our all the PW’s warehouses.
My interests vary, I love squash and play regularly, I enjoy reading, traveling is one of my favorite things to do and I have a thing for watches.Volleyball is a passion that the BVA helped me find. I owe the BVA a debt for helping me find something that is now a very big part of my life. I try and repay that debt by doing all the things I rised above to the best of my ability. Outside of my family there is nothing I like more then take a young player who though he or she had no athletic ability and to teach them to love volleyball and see them play the game with passion no matter their degree of skill. Every once in a while one of those players is a real diamond is the rough that shines with some attention and polish and that is icing on the cake.
