HIGH SCHOOL PLAYER OF THE YEAR 2009

The Bermuda Volleyball Association congratulates all the players who participated in the 2009 High School Volleyball league, which wrapped up with the men’s end of season tournament (December 1) and the women’s end of season tournament (December 3).

For the 4th consecutive year, the BVA has sponsored the High School Player of the year award, which was presented at the end of season tournament to the best female and male player. Throughout the regular season, each coach votes for one exceptional player on the opposing team that stands out during the game. When the votes were tallied this year the female winner was Akira MacDonald (MSA), and the Male winner was Daniel Fiddick (Warwick Academy)

The BVA was also accepting applications throughout the high season for 4 bursaries of $1,000 each, to be used to attend an overseas volleyball camp. The bursaries were awarded to Daniel Fiddick, Harry Secrett, Joshua Malpas, and Kyle Hamilton (all of Warwick Academy).
